"Data Center Valley": the first facility is slated for launch in June 2027
Kazakhstan's "Data Center Valley" project has gained specifics: the first data center is planned for launch in June 2027. This is a cluster of data-processing facilities meant to turn the country into a regional hub for storage and compute — over time serving not only the domestic market but neighboring countries too.
Together with the Ekibastuz projects and announcements of new capacity, a coherent picture emerges: Kazakhstan is systematically building the compute base for an AI economy. For companies it means the argument "our data must stay in the country" will stop conflicting with "we need modern cloud services" — local infrastructure will satisfy both, which matters especially to financial and medical organizations with their regulatory constraints.
The practical meaning of "June 2027" for a business owner: there is time to prepare the move deliberately. An inventory of your own servers and their real age, a list of systems worth moving to the cloud, an assessment of office connectivity — this homework takes months, not days. Companies that arrive at the launch of local capacity with a ready migration plan will get the best terms and the first slots — as has happened with every scarce infrastructure.
