Google now requires disclosure for AI-generated ads

Google announced it will now disclose which ads are made with AI. Previously, the company required such disclosure only for election ads, even though its rules against misleading advertising always applied broadly. Now any ad that leverages synthetic or digitally altered content - AI-generated images, AI voiceovers, edited video - must be labeled accordingly. For Kazakhstani businesses running campaigns in Google Ads, this is a good reason to review current creatives: if an agency or marketer is using AI-generated images or video in ads, it's worth checking whether the material falls under the new disclosure rules so a campaign doesn't get flagged or paused by moderation. It makes sense to write into internal marketing guidelines which materials count as "AI-made" and who in the company is responsible for checking them before launch.
