Astana Hub opens applications for Tech Orda: state support for future IT specialists
Astana Hub announced applications for the next intake of Tech Orda — a program under which the state pays for Kazakhstanis to learn in-demand IT professions at accredited private schools: development, data analysis, cybersecurity and other tracks where the labor market runs a chronic deficit.
The program's mechanics are sensibly built: money follows the student to private programming schools that compete on quality and graduate employment. For an individual it's a chance to change careers without training costs; for the market — an inflow of talent where salary expectations are already heated by scarcity.
For employers in Kazakhstan there is an unobvious but practical move: the program can serve as your own talent forge. An employee short on digital skills — a marketer without analytics, an accountant without automation — can train at the state's expense and return to your company with the skills. Tell your team about the intake, and have HR watch the program's graduates: people who changed professions deliberately tend to have above-average motivation. In an era when every second project runs into a shortage of IT hands, a free channel for replenishing them is a resource too valuable to miss.
