TII introduces Falcon ASR for speech recognition
The Technology Innovation Institute (TII) in Abu Dhabi, the team behind the Falcon family of models, has introduced a new release on Hugging Face called Falcon ASR. ASR stands for automatic speech recognition: the system listens to a recording and turns it into text. For the model's specifics, such as supported languages and quality benchmarks, check the original post.
This matters for business because a large share of working information lives in voice: messenger voice notes, client calls, team meetings, instructions given on the move. Until speech becomes text, it can't be searched, checked against company data or turned into a task. The better recognition gets, the less manual transcription is needed and the more information automated processes can actually use. For Kazakhstan the practical question is how any such model handles Kazakh, Russian and the mix of both within a single sentence.
Collect 10–20 real recordings from your own work, such as a client call, a manager's voice note and a meeting excerpt, and test any recognition model on them before building a process around it. Pay particular attention to numbers, surnames, product names and amounts, because an error there costs the most. A voice instruction turned into text easily becomes a task: 1Cifer agents create tasks, assign an owner, send reminders and report back on the result.
