Google releases WeatherNext 3, its most accurate AI weather model: for logistics and agriculture this is money, not talk

DeepMind released WeatherNext 3 — a global weather forecasting model it calls the most advanced and accurate in its line. AI models forecast faster and, on many tasks, more precisely than classical numerical methods, and their outputs are available to developers via API and Google's cloud platforms.

Weather is an underrated line in the cost structure of entire industries: for a farmer it drives sowing and harvest windows, for a logistics operator routes and delays, for construction the work schedule, for retail the demand for seasonal categories. A few percentage points of forecast accuracy add up to real money over a season.

For companies in Kazakhstan with its sharp climate, the practical step is to stop treating the forecast as a picture on a phone and build it into planning: automatic wind alerts for installation work, order adjustments before a cold snap, buffers in delivery schedules. The data has become more accurate and more accessible — the advantage goes to whoever makes it part of their processes first.
