eGov launches a trusted-contacts service for emergency hospitalization: the digital state covers one more life scenario

A new service is live on eGov.kz and in eGov Mobile: Kazakhstanis can pre-register trusted contacts whom the system will notify automatically in case of emergency hospitalization. Previously, families learned of such events with a delay — now the "medical system to contact" link fires on its own.

The evolution of approach is telling: the state is digitizing whole life situations rather than documents, thinking them through in advance — from childbirth to hospitalization. A person in a stressful moment shouldn't have to remember whom to call and what to file; the system does it for them.

Two lessons for business. First, the bar for customer service in the country is now set not by competitors but by eGov: customers are used to notifications arriving on their own and on time. Second, the method itself: walk through your customers' and employees' stress points and ask where an automatic notification would relieve anxiety — a delayed delivery, a failed payment, changed terms. Such details are remembered longer than discounts.
