Google teaches AI Mode to act inside apps, not just answer questions
Google updated AI Mode in Search so it no longer just answers questions — it can now link to a user's chosen apps and perform specific actions inside them. Previously the mode gave a detailed response; now it can walk a user all the way to a result within the everyday services they already use.
For businesses, this is less about Google's specific product and more a confirmation of a broader trend: customers and partners will increasingly expect to "negotiate" with apps and websites through an AI agent rather than clicking through manually. Companies with a client portal, catalog, or request system should think about how easily an outside AI agent could connect to their service — and what that would enable, such as customers placing orders or checking status without visiting the site.
In 1Cifer's setup, work is organized in a similar way: an agent doesn't just report stock levels or a counterparty's outstanding balance — it goes straight to action, creating a task, preparing a document, or launching an approval, carrying the request through to a result rather than a text reply.
