Kazakhstan updated its economic activity classifier (OKED) from July 1 — businesses should check their codes
As of July 1, 2026, Kazakhstan implemented changes to its OKED classifier — the codes businesses use to register their primary and secondary lines of activity. For many companies this looks like a technicality, but the OKED code actually affects tax regime eligibility, access to simplified taxation, participation in certain state programs, and the accuracy of statistical reporting. If a code is outdated or no longer matches actual operations, discrepancies can surface during audits or reporting. Business owners should take the time to check their personal cabinet and confirm that both primary and secondary OKED codes match the updated classifier and reflect what the company actually does. It's the kind of thing better checked in advance than discovered during a reporting cycle. This kind of regulatory update is a typical example of a routine but important task that's easy to miss amid daily operations. The easiest way is not to keep such dates in your head but to assign a task with a reminder to someone responsible — in 1Cifer an agent does that: assigns it, reminds, and reports whether the item is closed, before it turns into a problem during an inspection.
