OpenAI is building an AI agent "for everything": will everyone actually use it?
OpenAI, according to TechCrunch, is building an AI agent "for everything" — a universal helper that can book, buy, correspond and handle work tasks. The bet is clear: the more actions an agent takes over, the more valuable it is to the user and the stronger the platform lock-in.
But universality has a price, and the journalists ask the right question: will people use it? An agent "for everything" must be given access to everything — email, money, documents, calendar. A mistake in one area discredits the assistant as a whole, and responsibility is blurred: the tool is general, the consequences are specific.
In business the logic of trust works differently, and practice shows it: companies more willingly adopt agents with a clear specialization, where both the mandate and the accountability are understood. In 1Cifer an agent is tied to a role — the director, the accountant and the manager each have their own assistant, each seeing its own data and answering for its own stretch of work. For a business owner the guideline is simple: trust in AI is built like trust in employees — not one-for-everything, but to each their own area of responsibility.
