OpenAI launches GPT-6.1 Sol, a cheaper Astra sibling

We covered OpenAI's flagship GPT-6 Astra release back on September 3. Now the company has launched GPT-6.1 Sol, a lighter version of the same architecture built for coding, computer use, and professional work, priced at one-fifth of Astra's standard input and output token rates.

The real shift here is economic, not technical: near-Astra intelligence is now cheap enough to run AI agents across everyday business processes instead of treating them as an experiment. Companies can deploy more agents at once — for customer support, document review, code checks — without watching the token bill climb.

Check what running each AI agent currently costs your company and which processes got shelved because of price. Role-based agents in 1Cifer can run on different underlying models, so a price drop at Astra's level means adding new skills and processes gets cheaper too.
