eGov for business is going paid: what changes for companies

Kazakhstan has announced that eGov for business will become paid: some of the portal's electronic services for legal entities are moving to a commercial basis. The state's logic is clear — the public services infrastructure needs upkeep and development, and business, as its heavy user, becomes a co-payer.

For an individual company the costs will hardly stand out among other payments, but the attitude to state services will change: what you pay for, you start counting. The relevant questions now are: how many certificates and extracts does the company order per month, how many are duplicated across departments, and how many are requested "just in case."

The practical step is to appoint an owner for eGov workflows and gather a quarter's statistics on requests: the typical picture is several employees independently ordering the same documents. Tidying this up pays back in both money and time; and the routine part — ordering standard certificates for deals and tenders on schedule — can already be handed to automation and AI tools, which keep embedding deeper into corporate processes.
