Part of grain, sugar and potato sales must go via exchange

According to inbusiness, new rules are coming for the grain, sugar and potato markets in Kazakhstan. Large market players will be required to sell part of their output through the exchange.

In practice, a share of deals moves from direct contracts to open exchange trading, where prices and volumes are visible to the whole market. Producers and processors will have to rethink sales planning: what volume goes to the exchange and what stays on direct contracts. The exact parameters, such as the share, who is covered and the timeline, are worth checking in the rules themselves rather than in retellings.

If you grow, store or buy these goods, first check whether you count as a 'large player'. Then work out what part of your revenue and stock sits on direct contracts today. That report can be built automatically: a 1Cifer agent pulls data from 1C and spreadsheets, compares periods and tells you when the sales share drifts from plan.
