The HSP GRUPPE case: how AI is changing tax consulting work
OpenAI published the case of HSP GRUPPE, a German network of tax consulting firms. In their work AI sorts client documents, drafts standard opinions and answers routine tax-law questions; consultants verify the output and handle complex cases where judgment and client accountability are required. The described result — faster service and more time for the work clients actually value.
Tax consulting is the concentrate of a "document" profession: tons of standard paperwork, recurring questions, hard deadlines. These are exactly the professions AI changes first — not by canceling the expert but by removing four hours of mechanical sorting from their day. Notably, the case is European: a regulatorily conservative industry found a format where responsibility stays with people.
For Kazakhstan the parallel is direct: accounting firms, tax consultants and auditors work with the same stream of standard documents. Part of that mechanics is being automated here too — in 1Cifer, for instance, the accounting team hands the agent routine questions from staff and recurring summaries on invoices and payments, keeping reconciliation and disputed cases for humans. Service firms should read the HSP case as a forecast: clients will soon expect this speed by default, and the winners will be those who rebuild the conveyor before their market neighbors do.
