Kazakhstan signs law digitizing notary services: deals and powers of attorney go online
Kazakhstan's president has signed a law digitizing notarial activity. The notary system was one of the last links of business turnover still ruled by in-person visits, paper and stamps; now more and more notarial acts move to electronic format and remote mode.
For companies this is tangible time savings at the most sensitive points: powers of attorney for employees, contracts requiring certification, corporate resolutions. Where a deal used to wait until all parties physically gathered at the notary's office, the process compresses to electronic signatures — with document authenticity and history verified by systems that increasingly plug in AI tools as well.
A practical step for a business owner: audit the notarial acts your company performs regularly and ask your notary which are already available electronically. It often turns out staff still drive around with papers that could have been submitted online for a year — digital notary services only work for those who remember they exist.
