Kazakhstan updates e-signature verification rules

We reported on September 9 that Kazakhstan's e-signature rules will change starting September 11, 2026. Now the details are clear: an order from the Minister of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development, issued the same day, updated the procedure for verifying electronic signatures through a trusted third party.

A trusted third party is an independent participant that confirms the authenticity and validity of a signature at the moment a document is signed, without revealing the document's content to other parties. This mechanism matters most when several organizations or systems need to sign and verify the same document — for example, when companies exchange contracts or documents cross border. The updated rules aim to make this verification more transparent and predictable for everyone involved.

Ask your accounting or IT team how your company currently verifies signatures on incoming and outgoing documents, and whether a trusted third party is part of that chain. Compare your contract and invoice approval process with the updated rules before they become mandatory in 2026. Approval routes in 1Cifer keep a history of decisions and signatures for every document, which makes preparing for such changes easier.
