Kazakhstan's National Bank issued the country's second digital asset exchange license

The National Bank of Kazakhstan issued the country's second license for digital asset exchange. The first license was a cautious pilot; the second means the regulator is satisfied with the results and ready to widen the circle of legal players. Kazakhstan's crypto exchange market is moving from experimental mode to working mode.

For the financial system this is part of a larger line: Kazakhstan is consistently building a regulated contour for digital assets — from mining and AIFC exchanges to exchange licenses. The regulator's logic is clear: the more operations flow through licensed venues, the smaller the grey market where the state sees neither taxes nor risks.

Two takeaways for business. First, the applied one: if your clients or partners settle in crypto assets, there are now legal conversion points with a clear compliance procedure, and "there was no other way" no longer works as an excuse. Second, the strategic one: the infrastructure is being built faster than many expected, and companies in finance, retail and export should think ahead about the place digital assets will occupy in their settlements in two or three years.
